How to Make Your Own Skyblock in Minecraft! Part 1

How to Make Your Own Skyblock in Minecraft! Part 1Let's start with the basics: why do we need to know how many blocks of lava is on the bottom of a volcano? That's just simple logic really, what matters is the overall structure of a volcano and it's implications. Obviously, for game purposes you're going to need a crater in which to make your skyblocks and although this crater may be a bit disorganized I'm going to try and not give away the design so let's start with the basic idea of how to create your crater.First you want to make a dome, a small dome, about 6 blocks in diameter and slightly higher. This will provide some protection to the lava, it also protects against sunlight getting into the crater. You will also want to put one side of the dome slightly higher than the other. Now you'll want to get some lava into the crater. The easiest way to do this is to fill a bucket up with lava and then place it directly on top of the dome. Make sure you do not have any water in the crate r because the water would actually cause lava to stick to it would not be very pretty to look at.Around a bit you want to try and line up the dome with some hills and mountains. This is used as a base for the base of the volcano as well as some of the lava. Now you're going to want to place some smoothing bricks, it's best to use these if you don't have smoothing tools yet because they help eliminate some of the edges. You may also want to add a cobblestone path to your landscape for the lava to flow down, this is a better option than having chunks of lava hit the sky block.Keep adding more lava until the lava looks just right. When you have the lava level right, the sky is going to be burning at the edges and you'll have to prevent that from happening by positioning the base of the volcano with the most height and covering everything with lava. After all the lava is done you will want to make a new sky block over the crater. Now it's time to add some ladders so you can reach the top and you may want to add a different lava level for each side of the crater to represent height. Now that you have all the lava and ladders placed you're going to want to go back to the island and start making your sunblock. Be sure to leave enough space for any future lava additions and also make sure you build on the coast or you won't be able to build a crater. These are just a few ways that you can add a bit of intrigue to your Minecraft landscape. If you are unfamiliar with the art of using water and lava for skyblocks then this isn't the guide for you. That said, keep the information above in mind when doing your sunblocks.
